The Carquinez Model Railroad Society is a Federally-recognized 501(c)3 charitable organization. If you would like to help fund our mission to educate the public about railroading, the hobby of model railroading, and improving the appearance and function of our historic 1897 building, please consider making a donation. All donations are tax deductible within the limits of the law.
We are happy to accept donations of all kinds, including cash, railroad memorabilia, and working model railroad equipment.
If you would like to make a cash donation to the club, please use one of the three buttons at the bottom. You may direct your donation to be used towards the maintenance and improvement of our 1897-built building, or the development of further scenery on the club layout, or your donation can be simply designated to our general fund for the club's use in maintaining the layout and paying our ongoing operating expenses.
Donations of Railroad Memorabilia or Model Railroad Equipment
Please contact the club (see our Contact Us page) to make arrangements to receive your donation. Donations should not be simply left unattended at the club without prior arrangement. We will accept all types of model railroad equipment and memorabilia, but please make sure that items are complete and in reasonable working order. Thrift store etiquette applies - we are happy to have your donations but we are not an alternative to the dumpster. Again, please contact us about your donations.
Our Building, the former IOOF hall, has a large backlog of deferred maintenance. We will be needing to address the building exterior in the next year. The club is currently considering options and strategies for this project, and we will provide more detail on this page as we develop the program.
Our major scenery project is to complete our modeling of our Branchline through the Sierra Nevada mountains. We are using a professional model builder to guide this work so that it will be a major landmark on our layout and in model railroading worldwide.
If you prefer to allow the club to allocate your donation to its greatest need, please select the General Funding button
